Sir, – On Saturday, the RTÉ commentator suggested that a move leading up to a try was likely to have been “pre-planned” on the training ground. Then on Monday, a contributor to RTÉ's Morning Ireland explained how nurses and midwives had “pre-planned” for certain eventualities.
All this after a headline in The Irish Times (News, July 6th) informing us of “pre-planned” Garda and Revenue raids in Dublin.
Should we be “pre-prepared” for such widespread use of this kind of tautology? – Yours, etc,
