Sir, – Further to Emer McLysaght’s piece on mammies (People, May 12th), I fear that there may also be a North/South divide on this issue.
As a native Bangorian, growing up in North Down, I don’t recall anyone using “mammy” – it was “mummy” all the way! – Yours, etc,
