A woman who fell in an RTÉ studio as she was about to do a weigh-in as a contestant in the Operation Transformation dieting programme has settled her High Court action over the accident.

Georgina Brosnan (43), a married mother of five from Rathass, Tralee, Co Kerry, had said the injuries suffered caused her to give up her arts and crafts business.

Ms Brosnan sued RTÉ and the Belfast-based company Green Inc Film and Television Ltd, producers of the Afternoon Show, on which she was to be a guest for a weigh-in. The incident occurred on February 27th 2009, when she tripped on a ramp covering electric cables in the Montrose studio.

Ms Brosnan had sought €49,000 for loss of earnings and €63,500 in special damages. Yesterday, counsel for Ms Brosnan said the matter had been settled.
