A woman who failed in a £30,000 Circuit Civil Court claim for personal injuries against Quinnsworth now faces a legal bill of almost £6,000. Mrs Anne Butler (51), of Rowlagh Green, Clondalkin, Dublin, had told the court she had been left with a frozen shoulder after she slipped and fell while shopping in the store.

Her counsel, Mr Don Seligman, said she did not know what had caused her to slip but would present engineering evidence of clear signs of a leak in the ceiling over where the accident occurred. Mr Feargal Kavanagh, counsel for Quinnsworth, said there was no evidence of any slippery substance on the floor at the time.

Judge Liam Devally dismissed Mrs Butler's claim and ordered that she pay Quinnsworth's costs.
