A Cork man who pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of a father of five has told a court he has Masses offered for his victim.

A Cork man who pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of a father of five has told a court he has Masses offered for his victim.

Mr Gerard O'Flynn (41), Ahern West, Conna, Co Cork, told Judge Olive Buttimer at Waterford Circuit Court that he has been in trouble as a result of alcohol abuse since he was 17.

He said he raised £15,000 by remortgaging his house and wished to give it to the victim's family. In July he pleaded guilty to the unlawful killing of Mr Patrick Molumphy of Ballyduff Upper, Co Waterford, on July 4th, 1999. The matter had been adjourned for a probation report and has been adjourned again to Dungarvan Circuit Court on December 12th.
