The new Waterford Crystal visitor centre has opened to the public. The Waterford Crystal Experience, incorporating a manufacturing facility, retail store and visitor centre on the Mall in the city centre, will open later in the month.
However, since Tuesday last members of the public have been dropping in to the centre – at the old ESB building on the Mall. Manufacturing of crystal pieces, particularly high-end products, will take place on the site, which borders the city’s Viking Triangle.
It is hoped that the centre will help to stimulate tourism in the city and wider southeast region, while more than 80 jobs will be created at the centre.
