Three people have been killed in overnight road crashes, bringing to 16 the number of people killed on Irish roads since last Thursday.
Two young men, aged 21 and 19, died in a collision between a car and a lorry at Moyboughley in Moate, Co Meath, last night.
The female driver of the car was also injured in the crash, which happened at 10.30 p.m. She is being treated at Tullamore Regional Hospital.
In Swords, north Dublin, a motorcyclist died in what police say was an apparent hit-and-run collision with a car.
Kenneth Neilson (29), from Hilltown Park in Swords, died following the crash on the Forest Road in Swords shortly after midnight. Mr Neilson was taken to hospital where he died.
Last night's fatalities follow the deaths of six people in traffic accidents over the bank holiday weekend. Last Thursday seven people were killed on roads in the State.
