Son of the poet Pádraic Sweeney and originally from Drogheda, NCAD graduate Ciarán Sweeney has been living in Paris for the past four years.

Sweeney is a printed textile specialist closely associated with NCAD through a stream of productions for its annual graduate fashion show. And he is well known for the hand-painted velvet scarves worn by The Corrs, Moya Brennan and former president Mary McAleese among others.

Moreover, his furnishings have been sold in Harrods and Liberty's in London. Since moving to Paris, he has diversified into occasional styling and fashion writing as well as working on a number of projects with the famous Studio Harcourt, one of the oldest photographic studios in the world.

He is also developing experience in the fiscal side of fashion in the luxury retail sector with a private French company with a number of licences in France. He lives with his partner David Renault, another industry specialist.
