Gardai were investigating the death in suspicious circumstances of a woman in her mid-50s in Cavan town last night. The woman's body was discovered at her house at Farnham Road around 9 a.m. yesterday.
An ambulance and gardai were called to the scene, which was preserved for examination by members of the Garda Technical Bureau. The woman's body was removed to Cavan General Hospital, where a post-mortem was carried out by the State Pathologist, Dr John Harbison, last night.
