The Stone Roses will play at Dublin’s Phoenix Park next  year as part of their reunion tour.

The legendary band, who helped define the “Madchester” sound, reformed in October after a 15-year hiatus.

They gained legendary status despite recording only two albums, their eponymous debut, which was released in 1989 and is widely regarded as one of the all-time great rock records, and the less well-received The Second Coming, which came out five years later. They broke up soon afterwards amid acrimonous disputes between band members and legal wranglings.

The band have said they will release a new studio album before beginning their tour next June.
