There have been a number of minor landslides throughout the country in the past week following the recent heavy rainfall.  A popular walking area at Balldwane on the coast in Co Waterford was closed to the public last weekend after cliffs partially collapsed.

There was also serious damage to a road near Skryne, Co Meath.

AA Roadwatch reported that a large fuel spill has been treated on the N2 from Castleblayney to Carrickmacross today and urged motorists to drive with care.

Tullamore town centre is closed to traffic due to the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and there are also delays in Cork due to single-lane traffic in the Jack Lynch tunnel.
