BRITAIN: The driver convicted of causing the deaths of 10 men in the Selby rail crash after he fell asleep at the wheel was yesterday jailed for five years.

Builder Gary Hart (37) of Strubby, Lincolnshire, showed little emotion as he was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court for causing what the judge described as "perhaps the worst driving-related accident in the UK in recent years".

The father-of-four was convicted last month of 10 counts of causing death by dangerous driving after his Land Rover plunged off the M62 and onto the main line last February near the North Yorkshire village of Great Heck.
