Gardaí in Ennis had in recent days renewed their appeal for information from the public in relation to Mr Moloney's death.

Last Thursday, gardaí said they had recovered a knife believed to have been used during the attack on Mr Moloney. The knife was found on the floor by the handbrake of the Mazda car.

Mr Moloney (56) was stabbed to death in his cab between 7.30 and 8.20 p.m. on Friday, February 11th. His body was later dumped in a field at Ruan, six miles from Ennis. His killer tried unsuccessfully to burn out his cab out at the nearby village of Barefield.
