The search for 11-year-old Robert Holohan, who has been missing from his Cork home since last Tuesday, has been called off for the night.

A Garda spokesman said detectives involved in the case were meeting this evening to discuss how the search would continue tomorrow, but said there had been no developments today.

Hundreds of volunteers again joined in the hunt for the boy who left his home at Ballyedmond off the Fermoy Road, in Midleton, at 2.30 p.m. on January 4th and has not been seen since.

Robert talked to his mother by mobile phone the afternoon he disappeared. Yesterday the Gardaí at Midleton issued a photograph of a phone similar to the one he owned. His new BMX bicycle, a Christmas present, was found lying against a hedge not far from his home.

Gardaí have also asked that anyone who was at the East Cork Golf Club and Driving Range last Tuesday, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. to contact them if they have any information to offer.

A Garda sub-aqua team have been searching rivers and a lake in the search area and volunteers have been combing Castlemartyr Woods.
