A search continued off the Aran island of Inis Meain yesterday for a man who was swept off the island pier by heavy seas at the weekend.
Mr Michael Conneely from the island is believed to have been waiting on the pier to meet a ferry coming from Inis Oirr at about 3.30 p.m. on Saturday when he was caught by a wave. Mr Conneely was single and in his mid-20s.
