Nine-year-old colt Rince Ri has been ruled out of the Cheltenham Festival.
Rince Ri, generally a 20/1 chance for the Cheltenham Gold Cup, had surgery on the Curragh last night to rectify a colic. It is understood he has come through his emergency operation well, and it is hoped he will make a full recovery.
Ted Walsh's gelding recently finished third behind behind Alexander Banquet in the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Leopardstown but will now miss the rest of the season.
