Washington - The Rev Sun Myung Moon is due to bless tens of thousands of couples at a sports stadium here today in a ceremony organisers say aims to strengthen marriage and promote family values.
Spokesmen for Moon's Unification Church said they expect between 25,000 and 35,000 couples from 185 nations at the stadium. Most will not be members of the church founded by Moon in 1954. The ceremony will be beamed by satellite to some 50 countries, said spokesman, Mr Howard Self, allowing more than 30 million couples around the world to participate.
