The relics of another saint began a tour of Ireland yesterday when they arrived at the Visitation Monastery, Stamullen, Co Meath. A similar tour of relics of St Therese of Lisieux in 2001 was greeted by large crowds.
The 300-year-old relics of St Claude la Colombière, a Jesuit priest who helped to spread devotion to the Sacred Heart, were brought from France by Irish Jesuit Fr Bernard McGuckian.
They will visit every Catholic diocese by July 21st. The relics were brought last night to St Peter's Church, Drogheda, home to a relic of St Oliver Plunkett, and will be taken to the St Francis Xavier's Church in Gardiner Street, Dublin, today. Patsy McGarry
