England set a world record of 18 consecutive tests unbeaten at one ground when they scored seven tries in a record defeat of 14-man South Africa at Twickenham.

Two tries from centre Will Greenwood, a penalty try and touchdowns from winger Ben Cohen and back row players Neil Back, Richard Hill and Lawrence Dallaglio clinched the win over the Springboks who were hit by the first-half dismissal of lock Johannes Labuschagne.

England's run of victories beat France's 17-match unbeaten record at the Parc des Princes in the 1980s and Australia's present 17-match stretch at Ballymore in Brisbane.

The victory also completed a clean sweep of all the southern hemisphere powers - New Zealand, world champions Australia and the Springboks - in consecutive tests this month.

England last lost at Twickenham in a World Cup pool game in October 1999 when they were beaten 30-16 by New Zealand. The result marked England's biggest win over the South Africans.

England have never scored as many tries against the 1995 world champions.
