Jerusalem - Israel's three biggest parties failed to agree yesterday on a date for early elections after the embattled Prime Minister, Mr Ehud Barak, said last week he supported moving a vote forward by as much as two years.

Officials from Mr Barak's left-leaning One Israel faction said they would meet members of the right-wing opposition Likud party again on Monday to set a date. The parties had been discussing setting a May 22nd date.
