Police in Northern Ireland have launched a murder investigation after a 64-year-old man was stabbed to death in Co Antrim.

Police in Northern Ireland have launched a murder investigation after a 64-year-old man was stabbed to death in Co Antrim.

He was found in the Carnvale area of Ballymena early this morning.

A 59-year-old woman has been taken to hospital with serious stab wounds.

A spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said a man (26) had been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

“He is currently in custody assisting police with their inquiries,” he said. The investigation is ongoing.
