Four halftime changes from John O’Mahony sparked a stunning comeback from Mayo at O’Donnell Park today, to force a draw against NFL Division One opponents Donegal.

The homeside led 2-08 to 0-05 at the break but only managed two points in the second half as Mikey Sweeney, Barry Kelly, Pat Harte and Mark Ronaldson were introduced to turn the tide.

Two goals from Michael Murphy and points from Stephen Griffin, Eamon Mc Gee and Michael Doherty had Mayo struggling and the visitors would have been cut adrift entirely had pointed three.

THe second half was a very different affair with Barry Moran hitting the net before Sweeney bagged a beautiful point.

Mortimer then got his sixth before brother, Trevor, and Ronan McGarraty narrowed the gap to one point.

With Harte hugely influential in the centre of the park, an equaliser looked inevitable and it came in injury time, through the boot of Ciaran Conroy.

The result left both teams on one point after two games.
