A man has died following a crash involving a car and a truck outside Sligo town this morning.
The car, with three occupants, collided head-on with a truck near Ballinacarrow on the N17 just south of Sligo.
One man was fatally injured while two others have been brought to Sligo General Hospital. The area has been sealed off and diversions are in place.
Last night, a woman died when her car struck a wall near Lifford, Co Donegal. The 20-year-old was killed when her car crashed into the wall on the Lifford to St Johnston Road at 11.50pm.
There were no other occupants in the car. Gardaí in Letterkenny have launched an investigation.
So far this year 273 people have died on the State's roads.
