A London High Court judge ruled last night that the National Union of Journalists behaved unlawfully towards its former veteran deputy general secretary, Mr Jake Ecclestone.
The national executive council of the NUJ decided on December 12th last year that his name should not appear on ballot papers for this year's election for the post, following his dismissal with compensation.
Mrs Justice Smith said there had been "differences of opinion" between Mr Ecclestone and Mr John Foster, the general secretary, over cuts at the NUJ's Irish office.
