Last Word By The Listener, a selection of the writings of the late journalist and historian, Seamus O Cinneide, was launched yesterday by Prof Gearoid O Tuathaigh, of NUI Galway.
For over 30 years Seamus O Cinneide contributed much to Limerick cultural life as a journalist, local historian and Gaelic scholar. His journalism chronicled Limerick's history as well as taking a wry look at political and cultural affairs.
In addition to his work with the Limerick Leader and Limerick Chronicle newspapers, he was well known as a commentator on Limerick matters. He co-wrote a book of local history with Donal O Riain entitled The History and Folklore of Parteen and Meelick.
