A missile fired by an Israeli aircraft today in northern Gaza has killed a Palestinian teenager and a woman.
The Israeli army said troops had fired at a location from which militants had fired rockets into southern Israel a short time earlier.
Witnesses said the missile landed near a car as it was travelling just outside the town of Beit Lahiya, killing a woman and wounding three other Palestinians inside the car.
A 14-year-old Palestinian bystander was killed by shrapnel, Palestinian medics said.
A 13-year-old Palestinian girl has also died of wounds she sustained when an Israeli tank shell struck her home last week, medics said.
The Israeli army has killed 154 Palestinians, more than half of them civilians, in Gaza since it began an offensive to stop gunmen from firing rockets into Israel and to put pressure on militants to free a soldier captured on June 25th.
