Boxing:All four Irish boxers in action cruised into the last 16 of the European Championships to maintain the team's 100 per cent record in Ankara.

Ireland’s excellent start continued as John Joe Nevin, Willie McLaughlin, Con Sheehan and Cathal McMonagle made it five wins out of five so far.

Cathal McMonagle was put to the pin of his collar against Bosnia’s Mane Marceta as their bout finished in a 15-15 tie. However, the Irish super-heavyweight got the decision on a countback and will now meet England's Anthony Joshua.

In his first major senior competition, Joshua pulled off a superb 23-16 win over Germany’s former world junior silver medallist Eric Brechlin.

Nevin’s win was more straightforward, a 19-13 triumph over Pavol Inchenko, while McLaughlin beat Stephen Banyo 12-8.
