Cricket:Ireland beat Namibia by five wickets wrapping up victory without too much alarm on the final day of their Intercontinental Cup game at Stormont. At the beginning of play Ireland required just 38 with six wickets in hand and it would have taken something remarkable for the visitors to cause an upset. First-inning centurion Andrew White cracked a boundary in the first over and another in the second.
The match, which had been tightly fought over the first two days, ended slightly underwhelming with Pikky Ya France slipping four byes down the leg side. Ireland are next in action on Tuesday when they host Canada at Rathmines. There is one change to the Irish squad with batsman James Shannon replacing Stuart Thompson, who is unavailable due to university commitments.
Ireland 298 and 176 for 5 (Stirling 54, Cusack 42) beat Namibia 244 and 226 by five wickets
