A prosecution against the loyalist dissident Mr Billy Wright (36), accused of threatening to kill a woman, has had to be adjourned because a policeman is away on holiday.

The Portadown man, who is defying a death threat from the outlawed Combined Loyalist Military Command, was to have gone on trial at Belfast Crown Court next Monday. Mr Wright, who denies the charge, is also accused of perverting the course of public justice on August 10th last year.

Mr Wright, who was not in court yesterday, was to have gone on trial with Mr Trevor Buchanan of Corcrain Drive and Dale Weatherend of Ranfurley Road, who are separately accused of causing grievous bodily harm to a teenager and assaulting a girl on August 9th last year.
