Gardaí investigating the death of a man in Navan last month have renewed an appeal for information today.
Martin O’Gorman (63) , a native of Athlone, was attacked by a group of people on Academy Street in the town. Gardaí have already received a number of calls from the public after they appealed for witnesses and information.
In a statement today, gardaí said they were seeking to speak to a number of people who may have been around Academy Street shortly before 12.30am on Monday, June 21st.
These include a man cycling along Academy Street in direction of the Dublin Road at around 12.20am. He was wearing dark clothing with a hood up and had white stripes on his trousers/tracksuit bottoms and wore white runners.
Information is also being sought on a black VW Golf - or similar type car - that was heading along Academy Street towards the Dublin Road around 12.30am and a saloon motor car travelling towards the town at the same time.

Mr O’Gorman, who was single, was found lying on the ground between two parked cars by a taxi-driver, who called an ambulance and gardaí. CCTV footage in the area has been examined, and gardaí believe up to four people, possibly two of whom were women, may have attacked him.
Mr O’Gorman was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, and he was subsequently transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where he died.
