Gardaí name pedestrian killed in Dublin

Gardaí have named the man who died after being struck by a car on Friday night in Dublin when out walking.

He was 52-year-old Kevin McInerney.

A Garda spokesman said Mr McInerney is believed to have been from the Roxboro area of Limerick City originally but has lived in hostels in the Dublin area for the last 10 years.

Mr McInerney was struck by a vehicle at 11.55pm last Friday on Annesley Bridge Road, Fairview Dublin 3. He was taken to the Mater hospital where he died from his injuries a short time later.

Gardaí have appealed for anybody with information to contact them.
