A French-registered vessel has been apprehended by the Naval Service for alleged fisheries offences in Irish waters. The LE Roisin detained the Biriatou 50 miles south-west of Mizen Head, off the Cork coast, yesterday for alleged failure to fill in a logbook and alleged failure to record fishing effort.
The vessel was escorted into Castletownbere, Co Cork, where it was handed over to the Garda.
