The captain of a Norwegian-registered fishing vessel appeared at Carndonagh District Court yesterday charged with three logbook offences. Evidence was given of the arrest of Mr Frode Aga, skipper of the Moegs Terf Jord, at 9 a.m. yesterday morning at Killybegs, Co Donegal. When the charge was put to him, he was said to have replied: "Nothing to say."

Mr Aga was released on his own bail of £100 and the trawler was ordered to be detained until a bond of £243,632 was arranged. The case was adjourned until the next sitting of Donegal Circuit Court in May.
