A fire bomb was thrown at theBritish embassy compound in central Tehran this afternoon,but no one was hurt and little damage caused, a British diplomattold reporters.

The attack, which follows bombings on British targets in Istanbul yesterday that killed 27 people, was not preceded by any warnings nor was there any immediate claim of responsibility.

"We're in touch with the Iranian authorities and we're reviewing our security arrangements," the British diplomat said.
