Dallas - A Texas man remained in critical condition yesterday, two days after ordering his six-year-old son to shoot him in the head. Police said Mr Ronald Moore (42) told his family on Sunday that he wanted to kill himself. Unable to pull the trigger, Mr Moore placed the gun in his son's hands and demanded that he shoot.

Police said the boy told his father, "I don't want to," but pulled the trigger after the man yelled at him. His story was corroborated by his 11-year-old brother.

Police believe the boys' story and said the six-year-old will not be charged. Both have been offered counselling.
