The Law of Education – Training Courses

A series of one-day training courses on the law of education will be held over the coming weeks in various venues including Waterford, Gorey, Co Wexford and Naas, Co Kildare. The courses are open to primary and second-level teachers, members of boards of management, psychologists, health professionals and parents. Fees apply. Scholarships in the Irish language between Ireland and Canada

The Ireland Canada University Foundation is offering scholarships in the Irish language. Starting in this coming academic year – 2009/2010 – with funding from the National Lottery and the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, the Foundation is providing a number of Irish language teaching assistantships and visiting professorships which will be tenable at Canadian universities which offer substantive courses in the Irish language.

In addition, awards will be offered for Canadian university students to attend Irish-language courses for credit in the Gaeltacht environment.

Irish Science Teachers Association Conference

The Irish Science Teachers Association Conference takes place at the University of Limerick from March 20th to 22nd. There will be a series of concurrent lectures and workshops with more than 50 national and international facilitators and speakers. Workshops will cover a diverse range of topics including biotechnology, green chemistry, physics, forensics and themes in primary science. The AGM of the ISTA and the annual dinner will also be part of the programme.
