One doesn't normally associate maths with outdoor pursuits, but those attending the upcoming workshop of the Primary Teachers' Maths Association are advised to wear weatherproof clothing to the event. The reason? The association will be using an outdoor maths trail to show teachers how to make children more aware of mathematics in their environment and how to help students to develop mathematical skills using the great outdoors. The activities will be geared towards all primary school age groups and all teachers (suitably dressed, of course) are welcome. The workshop takes place at 8 p.m. on May 16th at the Marino Institute of Education, Griffith Avenue, Dublin. For more details phone (01) 805 7722 or email pstaff@iol.ie
