A restored plaque, marking the site of the first Christian Brothers' school in Dublin has been unveiled by Education and Science Minister Michael Woods. It's at the corner of Hanover Street and Lime Street, where the first community of Christian Brothers set up in l812 to provide education for what a contemporary writer described as "the poor of the wealthiest parish in Dublin". The plaque was removed during restoration work and the past pupils union of Westland Row CBS organised and paid for its restoration.
