The midfielder was shown a straight red card after a challenge on Laois midfielder Pádraig Clancy in last Saturday's football qualifier but video evidence reviewed by the CHC last night has resulted in the red card being rescinded.

A statement released this afternoon read: "The Central Hearings Committee of the GAA has confirmed that following a personal hearing and examination of video evidence, Dan Gordon of Down's suspension has been lifted.

"Gordon was sent off on a straight red car following an incident in the Football Qualifier game against Laois last Saturday.

Gordon will now be available to face Wexford in Croke Park on Saturday in what will be the county's first appearance at headquarters since 1994.

Full back Martin Cole is ruled out with an ankle injury sustained in the second round win over Laois and is likely to be sidelined for up to six weeks.
