A Co Kildare greyhound breeder has been granted leave of the High Court to challenge the Irish Coursing Club Ltd and an English breeder, Mr Wanless Fenwick, over the ownership of a brood bitch, Ladys Guest. Ms Siobhan Phelan, counsel for Mr Ian Greaves, Lughill Kennels, Monasterevin, told Mr Justice Kelly her client claimed to have bought Ladys Guest in the summer of 1994 from Mr Fenwick of High Market, Ashington, Northumberland. Since then, a dispute had arisen over the ownership of the bitch, which had been transferred by the Coursing Club to Mr Fenwick. Mr Justice Kelly granted leave to seek a judicial review of the situation.
