London - A family doctor accused of murder after one of his patients, Ms Kathleen Grundy (81), was exhumed, was yesterday charged with the murder of three more women who died within the last year.
Dr Harold Shipman (52), of Hyde, Greater Manchester, appeared before magistrates in Ashton-under-Lyne and was accused of killing Ms Joan Melia (73), Ms Winifred Mellor (73), and Ms Bianka Pomfret (49). All three had been patients at his surgery in Hyde.
