Brittany Ferries has cancelled its Cork to Roscoff sailings until further notice because of industrial action by French crew members.
Today’s 4pm Cork to Roscoff sailing has been cancelled.
The company apologised to passengers for the inconvenience and said it was endeavouring to contact all passengers.
In a statement Brittany Ferries said: “Following the series of strikes which has been disrupting our services, our board has reluctantly taken the decision to tie up the fleet and to cancel all crossings with immediate effect, until further notice.”
“This decision has not been taken lightly, but we cannot subject our passengers to the ongoing uncertainty caused by wildcat strikes and cancellation of services at short notice.”
The said the only route which would not be unaffected was the Poole-Cherbourg passenger service which is operated on the company’s behalf by Condor Ferries.
Passengers were advised to visit the company's website for further information.
The company yesterday suspended indefinitely its services from Portsmouth and Plymouth to France and Spain.
Talks are ongoing in the French port of Roscoff between unions and Brittany Ferries in a bid to end the dispute over pay and conditions.
