TV goes mobile: If you believe televisions and mobile phones are twin curses of modern life, news that Vodafone and Sky are to launch a mobile television service in Ireland should bring a tear.
From Thursday, Vodafone's 3G customers who subscribe to the Sky service will be able to watch 24-hour news, sport, entertainment and documentary programmes at a cost of between €1.99 and €4.99 a week. It's unlikely to take off just yet, however: only 17 per cent of Irish 3G users expressed a willingness to pay for it, said market research company iReach.
Divided loyalty: Shoppers in the UK have a love-hate relationship with Tesco which appears among the most trusted and the most distrusted companies in a survey by Britain's National Consumer Council.
Its advertising and marketing and a perception that it "only focused on profit" generated mistrust, but familiarity, fair prices and good quality service and products boosted the company's trust ratings.
