Mr Gerry Conlon, one of the Guildford Four, who was unable to appear in court in Belfast last week because he was suffering from depression, was present when his case was called yesterday.

A prosecution lawyer told the Magistrates Court it had been agreed that Mr Conlon's case should be adjourned until November 18th. Mr Conlon (42), from Osborne Park, Belfast, was remanded on continuing bail on charges of assaulting a policeman and causing a breach of the peace.

The charges relate to an incident last May when police were called to a house party in the Lower Falls area.
