A spokesman for an organisation for the integration of republican ex-prisoners has expressed concern at the arrest of three former prisoners at Manchester airport on Tuesday. Mr Pat Coyle, Mr Sean McMonigle and Mr Tony Miller from Derry were arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, writes George Jackson.

Dr Laurence McKeown of Coiste na nIarchimi said.

"Our organisation works for the integration of republican ex-prisoners and "the three men were in Manchester investigating community enterprise projects as part of a programme of work for Tar Abhaile, a Derry organisation for released republican prisoners. These arrests indicate that emergency legislation is still being used to create obstacles to reintegration."
