Clare progress straight to NHL semi-finals

In the final round of National Hurling League action Clare, Offaly and Waterford all progressed from Division 1A.

Clare are straight through to the semi-final where they join Kilkenny who progressed last week.

Offaly will play Tipperary and Waterford will play Limerick in the quarter finals.

Clare got the better of Cork by two points at Páirc Uí Rinn and Niall Gilligan was their star performer in the first half to send the Banner men in at half time 0-9 to 0-8 ahead.

In the second hald Cork were reduced to 14 men when Darren McSweeny got his walking papers and Clare were able to pull clear to win by two points.

Offaly also progressed following a victory over Waterford with a cracking display in the first half which saw them go in 2-10 to 0-4 ahead.
