Christmas has arrived in earnest. Not only was the Brown Thomas Christmas window unveiled yesterday, but as if in Yuletide sympathy, snow fell in Dublin and in parts of the north and west, writes Kitty Holland.
The first reports of snow showers were recorded in Monaghan, and at Casement air base in Dublin late yesterday morning. More showers fell across the northern half of the island throughout the day. And just after 2.30 p.m. white flakes fell in Dublin's city centre. According to Met ╔ireann, winds from the Arctic have been behind the sudden change.
