London - Environmental campaigners today called for all toys designed for young children that contain a type of soft PVC to be taken off the shelves immediately, after health fears over a chemical used in their manufacture.
The demand followed an EU study which showed that toys made with phthalates could damage livers, kidneys or testicles if they are chewed by young children.
