Swimming: Swim Ireland team member Andrew Bree equalled the Irish 200m breaststroke record in today's final of the event at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.

Belfast man Bree finished 5th in a time of 2:14:18, which equalled the current Irish record was set by Michael Williamson in 2004.

Bree will be disappointed to finish just out of the medals with what was his best swim of the Games.

He is swimming as part of the Northern Ireland team, which also includes Julie Douglas, Melanie Nocher, Jonathan Nixon and Johnny Cummings.

All the swimmers qualified out of their heats for the semi finals but it was Bree who ended on a high note with a well-placed fifth on the last day.
