London - A million pounds is up for grabs for the winner of a poker tournament - billed as the largest in the world - due to begin today. Some of the biggest names in the gambling world are expected to take their places at the event being held at the Hilton Hotel casino in Douglas on the Isle of Man.
Mr Barry Hearn, chairman of Matchroom Sport, promoters of the tournament organised by Ladbroke Casinos, said: "Poker is an extremely popular game not only in this country but throughout the world."
